Frequently Asked Questions

Q :It will be my first time playing in a river, but is it safe?

Created with Sketch.

A :In any river activity option, your guide will teach you what you need to know about boarding and rowing your watercraft. Almost all of our participants are first-timers, so please feel reassured that our options are beginner friendly.

Q :Is it okay if I cannot swim?

Created with Sketch.

A :You will be required to wear a lifejacket. Thus, even if you fall into the water, floating will not be an issue. If you can wait while you’re floating, a guide will come to help you back onto your watercraft.

Q :Will I get wet during the river tours?

Created with Sketch.

A:Yes. Please bring an appropriate change of clothes and belongings to prepare for getting wet. The only exception is Snow Rafting in which getting wet is extremely rare. If for any reason you absolutely do not want to get wet, please contact us in advance.

Q : What kind of clothes should I wear?

Created with Sketch.

A:Please come in clothes that are easy to move in. Please click on the “What to bring” and “Clothes” section listed on the “Details” page of every activity for reference.

Q :What kind of river courses are the River Play tours conducted on?

Created with Sketch.

A:The tour occurs in the upper part of Toyohira River and goes through the valley. The river has almost no current and is very calm. The total distance we will cover is about 2 km which includes circulating back to our starting point.

Q:May we take pictures during the river tours?

Created with Sketch.

A:Please feel free to ask your guide to take photographs for you. Once you get used to being on the waters, you may take pictures on your own (however, please note that the guide will not be responsible for any devices that become submerged in water).

Q : Will tours be canceled due to bad weather?

Created with Sketch.

A : Tours will most-likely be held rain or shine. However, there may be instances where a tour will be canceled the day before depending on weather and river conditions. During the winter season, tours may be canceled due to stormy weather. We will contact you a day before if any cancellations were to occur.
